Craft
Engraving
Everyday objects marked with your own design — glass, wood, metal.

A diamond burr spinning at twenty thousand revolutions, set down on glass: the material leaves as white dust and the line stays. You don't dig, you graze — the pressure comes from the weight of the pen, not from your hand. It is the only craft on this list where you don't make the object: you take one that exists, and you write on it.

Space & mess
A table and a cloth. Glass dust is fine and stays put; the silicone mat included holds it. No smell, nothing to dry but the paint.
What will go wrong the first time
Your first line will skid. That is because you pressed: the burr bites, jumps, and leaves a scratch across the design. It should rest, not push — the weight of the pen is enough. And you engrave in light passes, never one deep stroke, because a bad line on glass cannot be undone.
Start with one of these three
Not twenty. Three. Choosing is already an effort when you have never made anything.

1 projetsThese few moves, and you can make anything
- 01Transfer the designThe stencil goes on before the burr spins.
- 02Graze itThe pen's weight is enough — pressing makes it skid.
- 03Work in passesSeveral light strokes beat one deep one.
- 04Change the burrA point for lines, a ball for filled areas.
- 05Frost the fillsWhat makes the design show once the lamp is lit.
- 06Paint and wipeThe colour stays in the cut, not on the smooth glass.
